Punta Mayia is a vacation residence located in Brisas de Zicatela, Oaxaca—an area of rapid tourism growth known for its beaches, gastronomy, and vernacular architecture. Just 10 minutes from the beach, the project addresses high vacation demand with an innovative proposal aimed at travelers aged 20 to 45, designed for exclusive rental through platforms like Airbnb.

The design centers on common areas as the core of social interaction, organizing the program through three rectangular volumes arranged around a central pool and terrace. Each volume contains two rooms with private bathrooms and covered outdoor kitchenettes. The program also includes a commercial space, garage, and service areas. Inspired by Mediterranean architecture—particularly from Mykonos and Santorini—the project integrates local vernacular elements to create an active yet relaxed beach atmosphere.

Materials were selected for durability and low maintenance, including white concrete, natural stone, Macuil wood, and coconut husk. A palette of white, sand, and sky blue reinforces the Mediterranean aesthetic. Furnishings and finishes were carefully designed, and thoughtful gestures—such as preserving a neighboring tree—emphasize the connection to the natural surroundings
